Payment Options

In an effort to ease the financial burden of unanticipated funeral expenses, the following options for payment have been developed for your convenience.

Discount for payment-in-full.

If acceptable payment in full is received by the funeral home on or before the day of final disposition (burial, cremation, entombment), your account will be credited with a prompt payment discount of 3% of the merchandise purchased. Any resulting overpayment will be returned to you by funeral home check once all charges have been finalized.

Thirty Day delayed Final Payment with Deposit.

Payment of two-thirds of the funeral bill may be delayed (as long as thirty days) after the funeral arrangements are made if a deposit of one-third (1/3) of the total charges made by the funeral home plus the total cash advancements is paid to the funeral home on or before the day of final disposition. A formal funeral statement indicating the unpaid balance and the date past due will be sent several days after the final disposition.

Payment by Major Credit Card

The funeral home is not authorized to accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express. We will direct you to a local bank which can issue a cash advance on your card if you have appropriate credit available.

If your credit limit is too low, usually a call to your credit card issuer (bank) will be enough to have them extend your credit limit for the purpose of paying funeral expenses.

Assignment of Life Insurance Proceeds

Proceeds from any valid “non-group” Life Insurance policy may be assigned by the “Beneficiary of Record” to the funeral home as payment for the full charges made by the funeral home. (Cash Advancements are payable directly to the funeral home on or before the day of final disposition.) The funeral home will determine the validity of the insurance policy by contacting the insurance company. At that time, the Beneficiary of Record will be identified by the insurance company.

Bank Financing

Short term consumer financing may be available through a local bank to pay for the charges made by the funeral home. (Cash Advancements are payable directly to the funeral home on or before the day of final disposition.)

Estate Payment

The estate of the decedent, bearing the ultimate responsibility for funeral payment is often not prepared to pay funeral costs for several months and is therefore not usually a reliable source for immediate funds necessary to pay for such services as grave openings, crematory charges, clergy honoraria, legal documents, etc.

If, once those expenses are paid from another source, it is determined that the remaining funeral bill must be paid by the estate, the funeral home will add monthly, a late payment charge to its statement in the amount of 1/12th of 16 percent per annum of the unpaid balance due it starting on the first day of the month following the past due date which is the thirtieth day after the standard agreement is dated and signed. The minimum monthly Late Payment Charge will be $10.00.
